the numbers are still very very small for the country. the increase is barely noticeable on the graph. interesting news but alarming? you be the judge: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/south-korea/

It varies greatly from state to state. Check out johns hopkins site for graphs for every state all on one page.

very good advice! and useful in many circumstances

in meat: doesn't matter, because you cook it. it shouldn't really be inside the meat anyway. on meat: a long time if it's frozen. years, decades, centuries... probably years. For centuries you want a lab freezer at -40. soap kills it rapidly, so you can wash the package and then freeze it. we are ozoning our groceries with a ozone duffel bag for hunting clothes. i'd say put it in the sun, but it's meat.

What's up Brasil! Hello from New Mexico.

2nd wave in Korea is very very small wave.

Korea is doing awesome!

@kev.6149 sun is better and cheaper, if you can get it
1
Sun is so good at making vitamin D! And it feels great :)
1
@antonystringfellow5152 You can get the RDA in about 4 minutes of sunshine! This kinda hints that more than that is 'normal' or better.

They must be doing good work in the hospitals. The death rate hasn't begun to go up yet. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/usa/florida/ Maybe they are getting better and better at treating people, and shifting resources. Ok stay healthy!
1
I don't see the "daily cases" -- is it a button or a menu?
1
@CricketsBay I've got a new idea, seven minute mint. Not six minute mint! Seriously it all sounds delicious.
1
@pakde8002 Florida deaths still steady, but should show up in the next week from their recent surge. 30-50 per day for the last 10 weeks
1
@A Tangerine Fox is unreliable, so is CNN. I have noticed two major errors on PBS the past week! Truly, we have to triangulate for facts.
1
that's crazy lol. I did find one that didn't have new cases, 192. I tried duckducigo and it didn't do that. duck is so much better than gargle
1
maybe it's a mild strain or something. there was one plant had 373 positive cases with no symptoms

mmmm

It's always mutating, like any living thing. Or thing based on DNA or RNA. Most mutations will make no difference. Proving that a mutation makes any difference is extremely difficult research. In conclusion, nobody knows. Anyone who says they know is ignorant or not honest. It's possible -- even likely -- that the virus will become less deadly over time, in my humble opinion.
1
yes, it's barely visible above zero on the graph
1
Except Korea's "wave" is like 40 cases a day, while our wave in the US is ~ 30,000 a day.
1
9Inchdds I don't see states with big protests and/or riots going up. Instead I see a lot of increase across CA and the South. Johns Hopkins website has graphs for all the states
1
Can you drive to a forest where there are few people?
1
@A Tangerine Politics is irreverant to this virus. Some places got it early, some places getting it now. Behaviour matters of course! But as Buddha asked, "Why do people learn the hard way when the easy way is easier?" That question has never been answered to the satisfaction of science.
1
@A Tangerine We don't teach statistics until graduate school in the US, in my experience.
1
Debbie Lee Many are not very busy because there's not much virus, and people cancelled optional surgeries and visits. They're not laying off people in general, but in some places.
1
we need some random sampling. 400 random tests would give better picture than a million non random.
1
Korea is doing very well, but you are right it's nard to totally get rid of.

You are right that people with dark skin can still make lots of vitamin D! Melanocytes are in a deep layer of the skin, and vitamin D is made in that layer, and the layer above it also. "... vitamin D production is greatest in the stratum basale (colored red in the illustration) and stratum spinosum (colored light brown)." -wikipedia/ vitamin D "Melanocytes are melanin-producing neural crest-derived[3] cells located in the bottom layer (the stratum basale) of the skin's epidermis" -wikipedia/ melanocytes
