Check the link there from Time. . To be clear, the virtue of Taiwan's leadership was that they acted BEFORE they knew everything. As a result they have less than 100 deaths from it on the whole island! .

@tomj3570 Oh John is awesome! I'm not dissing him or the scientists around the world. They are heroes. . I'll check my sources but I thought that Taiwan intelligence (not people at large) had very early clues in 2019. . One thing is clear: Taiwan did a magnificent job, for whatever reason. They have had 0.8 deaths per million from the virus. . My original point was that not all governments were incompetent, and I think that point is proven by that number.

@maryastark8075 Oh I am sorry you are in NYC, I'm sure it's wonderful in many ways but right now... . I'm in NM now, though I have lived in Australia. It's very calm, small city life, nothing much has changed. . IMHO the news does a terrible job of informing people. Even PBS has been failing lately -- the last three reports I fact checked on them had major, material innacuracies that completely changed the meaning of the evidence they presented. . Did you see one single report on ANY station during the riots, that said exactly how many buildings were burned? I didn't. . I searched the web for some sort of quantification of violence or damage. It was hard to find. . I did find tons of sh!t like the Sun (a British newspaper) posting a two hour video titled "Protestors Clash with Police in Chicago" with zero clashes and it's not even in Chicago. . Honestly I believe you more than CNN, Fox, and PBS combined. People convey the context of a situation, while the news obscures the context to sell soap and war. . If you say it's getting rough in NYC I believe you.

@maryastark8075 Let me look outside and see where I am lol. . I can also forecast the weather that way. I predict it will be dark tonight, and cooler than the daytime. Sun is likely at daybreak, followed by a heat wave at mid-day and a cooling trend in the later hours. .

@tomj3570 Well actually I agree with you. Politicians (in my country at least) are generally bad at science. Scientists are really good at it! .

All the vitamin D forms are similar. D3 and D2 are forms of D. . D3 is found in only in animals. Our skin makes D3. D2 is found mostly in plants. . A D3 pill may last longer on the shelf and be twice as active as a D2 pill, but they do the same thing in the body afaik.

I don't think violence is increasing. Source? It seems calm here. . Maybe it's time to stop watching the nightly news, for both of us, because my blood pressure is going up just thinking about it. . And so what if the governor creates a task fart. It's what governators do when they can't go back in time to terminate things. Let's unplig and take a walk :!)
