i like it but i'd add another option, they travel to save other planets from high risk of doom

or it would happen via drones/ seed ships rather than crewed craft

agree. it is the No True Scotsman fallacy. "there's no evidence!" "what about this?" "that's not proof"
2
agree. as far as SETI goes #4 alone is enough to explain the paradox. If they exist within 100ly they don't broadcast at high radio power. the power of earth emissions has gone down for decades i think i heard, due to efficiency, fiber optics, etc. (100ly or whatever the range would be given our telescopes and an assumed power)

the furry paradox

you make a great distinction there between technology and intelligence. i agree there are many intelligent species on earth (all of them if we look at the cellular processes). We may not be the smartest on our planet. Dolphins have learned English but the English have not learned dolphin! (maybe the Navy has but it's not public)

yeah if 1/10k are trying to take over the galaxy then they are outnumbered 10k:1 why would that one aggressive species win against all others?

excellent point. i look at it like an ecology. We don't see lions trying to kill all other lions. That is a waste of energy that could be used for making more lion cubs, or just lazing around in the sun. Most life gets along fine with most other life. Everything gets eaten, but nothing eats everything. Humans try very hard to preserve and protect creatures that are affected by our activities. We depend on nature so we take care of it.

yeah i think dyson spheres are not useful until the far far future, like the age of iron stars when energy is actually limited. today energy is plentiful. there's no need to surround a star with a giant solar collector if they can just fuse hydrogen

the Fermi Paradox should be amended to "Why do we see spacemen on earth but not in space"
1
@JoeBtfzplk that last one seems highly likely -- even if they originated elsewhere the odds suggest they have been here far longer than modern humans, perhaps even at the start of life! i imagine a type of radio laser is possible. this would have little leakage and be hard to detect outside the line of aim.
1
@JoeBtfzplk i also think some degree of spacetime/ dimensional technology is very likely. strong ability to manipulate dimensions could mean "all of the above" is true -- human time travelers, aliens from far away, and creatures that have been on earth for millions of years, all at once.

also how about the technetium star? the one with the polish name that has 'man made' elements
