it comes from just outside the horizon

@charlesbrightman4237 You pasted the same thing to my comment and other comments. That seemed like you weren't really into thinking about what people are saying, just pasting your own thoughts.

correct, a neutron star is also possible

Tell it to the war machines. Science is a tiny part of human expense and a huge part of human prosperity.

@mimibaker2022 Notice that gravity does not pull things closer if they are in orbit. It tries, but there is other motion involved.
2
@mimibaker2022 In orbit yes. But not totally fixed and stable. We kinda are in orbit around Sag A* (but most of our orbit is accounted for by the mass of the other parts of the galaxy). Most systems with more than two bodies are not completely stable. So the solar system might fall apart, but it wouldn't fall right in. There is one thing that gradually leads to falling in over time: friction. The more gas and stuff in the orbital area the more likely an object is to lose orbital energy due to collisions, and slowly orbit closer and closer until it falls in. This is what happens to stuff in the accretion disk.

@ianwhite4347 One possible alternative: there are dark matters; more than one kind.

mass or no mass, everything in the universe gravitates

@1N2themystic When escaping a gravity well, photons show red shift, but massive particles slow down. Matter and energy both are affected by gravity, but differently

idk but I think we can't separate time and space, we only have spacetime. it is one thing.

All of science is theoretical.

@dpierson489 Some philosophies of science hold that there IS NO PROOF of ANYTHING. All we have are models that do / or do not / correctly predict experiment. In this view, proof is for alcohol. (and math?)

nice

air is clear, but you can see it above a hot road

It only sucks up stuff that actually passes inside the horizon.

@mimibaker2022 cheers!

i think macrolensing would be with galaxies or clusters
