  3. Agree, it is very likely that the planet and it's precious microbes will survive no matter what we humans do. We'd have to crash it into the moon or something. Stefan 24-- I agree we should expand, but I also think humans will survive on Earth. Ironically, going to space will make us appreciate our home, and enable us to take care of it better.

  4. The average size star would be a red dwarf. Something like 75% to 90% of all stars are red dwarves. We could say the Sun is a "medium" sized star, but it is far larger than the average (mean or median) star in our galaxy.
