no Bernie no sound no comments about Vilsack good job everyone now can we make smores?
30
if he wins a majority he's automatically in, but if he wins a plurality, that applies
20
Yang had the best new idea of the night, how to deal with money in politics. Truly visionary and practical at the same time.
19
Say it aint so, Joe!
13
wow that's low
10
oh that's cool
9
The term is "acquired" immunity. One reason it doesn't get attention is because everyone is using an incorrect word. Natural immunity requires no exposure. E.g., fish have natural immunity to covid (maybe).
9
If he believes what he says, he's even worse than I thought.
8
Oh it was just Brown and Columbia, and he only did economics, political science, and law. How could such trivial stuff be useful for a president? So what if as CEO he expanded a test-prep company from 5 to 69 franchises in three years. So what if he started a nonprofit that grew 30 times in size, helping people in over 20 cities to become entrepreneurs, a word derived from French. Also his father only had "over 69" patents. The USA needs more than 69 patents to be great again.

@randytessman6750 I think the lesson is for pundits, don't be dismissive. Say "If/ when he eventually drops out..." Actually it's for all of us to not act omniscient.
7
@gracieb.3054 I have lived in Hawaii for 20 years and seen the voter suppression and other stuff the party does. I am democratic but cynical. . I seen too much. . Example: every couple years the Republicans in the State House, all two of them, introduce a bill to stop taxing food. . Seems like a Democratic ideal, right? But the Dems vote it down! Year after year they vote it down, while people working three jobs starve so they can afford gas to idle on the H1. . Don't get me started. If they were true Democrats it would be awesome. Hawaii is a wonderful place but the politics are rubbish.
7
thank you for that. it's hard to get good info. worldometers has numbers and graphs for many countries and states but no graphs for AZ
7
Public health workers are awesome. The top political appointees... not so much :(
6
it was over a month, but I do agree it could be partly statistical variation
6
Yup that makes sense. The Elite won't like her policies and they, unlike "white liberals," really keep up on the issues. They have the skill to do things like you say, support one candidate just to split the vote away from another, so neither win. But the Elite are not "white liberals" like Krystal keeps saying. Tons of white liberals are poor, alternative lifestyle, college students, etc. that in no way qualify as the elite. I'm really disappointed in the lack of precision in Krystal's language, even if she has a good point in there somewhere.
6
The democratic machine appointed her. They own Hawaii politics. They are basically republicans in policy and a mob in practice.
6
@aaron2709 Yes, proof-of-concept is a good term. One might further the defense Yang by asking, "If Warren donated campaign money to hurricane relief in Georgia, would that also be illegal?" Yang is brilliant because 1) it's already getting news, and 2) if he gets sued, he gets free publicity (and a fine at most). He can't lose for winning.
6
@germywormy So was Clinton, but some of those people were innocent people that the CIA wanted to have dirt on. They used Ep to set up honey traps. . So Trump and Bill might not be like that, and Joe is probably just fine, people don't like old world displays of affections. . A lot of America is so prudish they think it's wrong to show one female breast during halftime. Come on folks, it's half time!
5
They wanted to make M4A look bad, but they didn't want Bernie to answer it because he'd smack that softball.
5
she did
5
You are the first person to correctly use the term "natural immunity"! I wish I could send you a fruit basket. No joke. Be healthy everyone!
5
what is it? nobody has defined it, not Pete nor anyone on the panel
5
Ted Koppel

Warren may be the choice of "white liberals" as Krystal says, but "white liberals" are not the "elite." To me the "elite" are a couple steps above the upper middle class and the merely rich. They are the ones that make a lot of decisions. Anyone with a net worth over 50m would be crazy to support her, with her confiscation of wealth tax. "Two cents! Two cents!" might as well be "To the Guillotines!"
4
@mishaangelo926 Correct, no limits on speech per se. The 1a protects all speech, but shields no crime. This is wise. No words are illegal. However, committing a crime is wrong, even if words were used.
4
@elliemaeclampett2810 I'm seriously thinking Bernie/Tulsi is the best possible ticket for the general election. Any combo of YTB would be like spring in Narnia! I'll probably vote for whoever of the three has the best chance in my state, vs the "others." I'm voting in Hawai'i... so it'll be hard not to vote for my favorite daughter. But if Tulsi's not going to get a delegate, and Bernie needs the vote... Bern baby Bern!!
4
The Dating Game was good but it doesn't address the problems of today. MSNBC should go with an America's Got Talent format.
4
@douginorlando6260 Bernie's approach is based on unity, even if some policies might not do that. Listen to his Liberty University speech, he had evangelicals cheering.
4
@alienzenx I just noticed, all the debate candidates had blue backgrounds except Tulsi and Andrew who had red. #boycottMSNBC starting with their advertisers like Angie's List
3
For me it was a radio interview with Rick Hamada in Honolulu... must have been in 2012.
3
"America cannot be invaded because everyone has guns" . also, "No food anymore because the government needs more guns."
3
as a Sanders (and Andrew and Tulsi) supporter, I don't like Pete mainly because of his vague answers, and also that he doesn't truthfully represent other M4A plans. Bernie, Tulsi and Andrew are straight talkers. Marrianne is a wholistic talker. The others are talk talk talk.
3
@antwarior I do agree that Yang is really good. I'm just saying, ole Bern paid his peeps. He cashed his crew. The pesos have left the building. His tires have the correct tire pressure. That said, Yang is one of the best candidates we've ever seen, and I may very well vote for him. He's got the best web site by far. Yang's ideas that are super creative and practical.
3
I think he actually says a cost of 30t for his plan, vs 50t for current system. It's not even Bernie's estimate, it's big economic studies, these media peeps should be able to look up this shit in two seconds.
3
@dojoh6889 I'm sure a lot of second jobs are under the table, now-and-then, self employed, or otherwise not captured by the statistics.
3
the 9% is for general election polls, not the primary. . yes they are ignoring her very strong polls among all voters.
3
@Swnsasy One of the biggest differences is age -- Bernie has the young, Warren has the old. A Bernie/Warren ticket would be tough to beat in that respect. Another such pairing is Biden/Gabbard, where Gabbard has the youth and Biden the venerable vote.
3
As a scientist, I also learned long ago that the press will make mistakes on the most obvious stuff. Therefore, don't trust them on the difficult stuff. Science itself is awesome; science reporting is abysmal.
3
I think it's the old, "It's not what you do, it's how you do it." Bernie, Yang, and Tulsi listen. They explain. They don't smear. They seem real. To me, Biden seems like a good guy to work for. Warren i'm not sure. Kamala, head for the doors. This is purely a vibe thing and it matters a lot to voting. Tulsi, Bernie and Yang are the kind of people I'd go camping with -- and I go camping to get away from people. No worry about bears with Tulsi there. Bernie can charm the birds so I can ID them. Yang can set up the tent, without a good sleep it's rough out there. I got the fire.
3
One thing I really like about him is when he's not an expert on something, he doesn't pretend. He's like that one guy in class who's a genius and also so normal he can explain things to the other kids.
3
Public health experts are great. Politicians are not. Please everyone don't blame scientists for bullshit politics and bullshit reporting!
3
@putsome basilonit To be fair to the Pentagon, it's not that the 23t just evaporated, it's that they spent it, but they can't say where. But the point is still quite right. M4A is affordable!
3
I'd bet, Tulsi Bernie and Andrew have the highest "dedication" score among the people who count in their poll %.
3
why should she endorse anyone? she could focus on issues maybe. I suppose, when there's an actual primary going on, she could endorse someone but it seems pretty early now
3
He said we need 9 justices because that case might come up. . So yeah he kinda almost said that.
3
@nnenne4 Mayor Pete, I was that endorser. That endorser was me.
3
Tulsi, Andrew, and Bernie all want to do big things. Joe, hey, I like Joe but he's no Andrew Yang. Tulsi is an Andrew Yang.
3
uh... of course it's legal. they need to ask if Warren's 2% wealth tax is legal.
3
PS now I see the issue, it's campaign funds. ok maybe there's a case. Yang is a genius either way.
3
Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and Bob Menendez are mentioned in the leaked audio tapes... https://elperiodicocr.com/bolivia-filtran-audios-de-lideres-opositores-llamando-a-un-golpe-de-estado-contra-evo-morales/
