I put "we" in quotes becaue the American people were fooled and brainwashed and did not know that -- for example -- the CIA chose Ho Chi Minh as the best guy to back, but the politicians didn't listen. CIA: "He likes democracy" Washington DC: "We don't"

I don't say Ho was legit Thomas Jefferson, but that the CIA agents before the war thought he was the best bet -- partly due to his admiration of said Founding Father. Bottom line, we backed the South Viet. Gov. when they were more corrupt than a brick of swamp cheese. I guess I'm mostly agreeing with you too -- we lost because of TV -- because TV made us realize that we were wrong to invade. But I contend that without TV we would have still lost, it just would have taken longer.
