Left / Right 2016 and forever!

Yup, they had to send a bear to bring him messages and paperwork to sign. Often, the bear would take a holiday. Mountain bluebirds would end up doing many of the daily tasks of the Presidency, and and it seems they did a yeoman's job. *Yeobird's job

Australian cultures have lasted for about 50,000 years or more. DNA shows Kennwick Dude was Paleoindian. However he was not linked genetically to one specific tribe.

Trump is fine with Indians, no worries. Some of his supporters are nuts but they were nuts before.

When you look into history, our stars and stripes, the union jack, all the big shot national flags are steeped in colonialism, racism, genocide, and war. I don't think the stars and bars is any worse or better in that sense.

US never been better in terms of low crime and low racism. But the 1950s were ten times better for middle class workers. One person could work, raise a family, and save money. Now two people together can't manage it. It's been a steady slide since at least 1970 if not earlier.

The same reason for why each word in this sentence means what it means: history.

Trump will disappoint many people, on the right and the left. Which will be good for most of us.

Yes, exactly. History is not pretty and nations are the worst offenders, so flag worship is silly. And singling out one flag for scorn is also silly. Confed flag mostly symbolizes today a spirit of independence, outdoorsmanship, manners, the kind of things that distinguish the South culturally in the imagination of it's paler denizens.

> They are misinformed, and acting on impulse. Which is the entire programming mission of the big-mac media :P

@ericoakley4388 I think we as a species are smart enough to have far less impact on the land, even as we progress in technology and grow in population. There's some hard trade offs, sure. But you mention going back 100+ years -- we were doing a TERRIBLE job at conservation then! We are so much better now, even with many times more people.

@thedemonhater7748 I suspect Regan did not know about it, but he / his team got Iran to hold our hostages LONGER until Reagan was elected. That is treason in most books. I'm pretty sure he wasn't involved, because he was mostly a figurehead.

Wonderful stories from the family, thank you!! A lot of Roosevelt's conservation work was done with Aldo Leopold and John Muir. My dad played Aldo in Chataqua programs for many years, and I met a few of Aldo's children, and stayed at the famous old Leopold shack. The generations past are still very close to us :)
