Investigations are usually done behind closed doors. Cops don't advertise their findings unless/until they bring to a grand jury. The House might not even bring charges, and so this secrecy even protects the President from unfounded rumours. I mean, in theory.

Hold on there hoss. It's not a coup if you go by the rules. If the House and then the Senate vote to impeach and then convict, even if it's a bad decision it's not a coup. A coup would be the Senate voting to acquit our honorable President, and then changing their mind after the army occupies the Capitol.

@bonecrushershow9167 There's a ton of scandal and corruption in the Trump white house. There are actually a few indicted and jailed. But is it worse than any other white house, or just more obvious and more chaotic? Cheney was way worse in terms of body count. Obama actually ordered the execution of a 16 year old American citizen. So yeah. Justice can't be constructed in a year just to take down people we don't like. Even if they deserve it.
