Top 0.1% of Income starts at about $2m per year, so that's more than a millionaire, but not always billionaire.   By Assets, there are about 600 billionaires in the US, about 2 per million. True billionaires are thus are part of the 2/10,000ths of the 1%.   The 1% could buy a nice summer cabin. The 0.1% could buy a nice summer cabin every year. The 0.00001% could buy summer.

  4.  @smonyboy  Point being, your regular 1%, they are not the problem. They're our neighbors.   It's the 1/10,000th of a percent that are driving economic inequality. Like Yang talks about, Amazon not paying taxes, while Bezos is top on the billionaires list. Your regular 1% millionaire Joe pays taxes, lots of them. Bezos pays few taxes, and he's 127,000 times richer than millionaire Joe. It's a matter of understanding the aaaasttronomical scale of our money.

  6. @Ownerthekpwner There is indeed a point of income where you will pay MORE overall. Perhaps, just perhaps, if Bernie had another minute without interruptions and ridiculousness, he'd have said... that point of income is... ... idk does anyone know here? ___

  8.  @smonyboy  I agree, we can collect more tax $ from the 1%, the 300k/ year job people. They won't mind even, if it's done moderately. The big fish, we have to close the major loopholes, such as Amazon, offshoaring, and the oil depletion allowance. This is where the major corruption will oppose strongly, so the solutions have to be simple and well thought out. Wealth tax won't work. Transaction tax will work. Bernie, Yang, and Tulsi I believe would handle such things effectively. I thought Warren was a financial guru but her wealth tax gives me paws.

  9.  @smonyboy  Yeah I don't really trust Warren to work this out. I think Bernie, Yang, and Tulsi are all more straightforward talkers, and better listeners. Warren comes across as too inflexible in practice, but too soft on principles. She does great stuff regulating banks, it'll be fine to have her in Congress.
