  2. Well kinda sorta. A democracy can be direct democracy, or representative democracy, or a mix. A republic is a representative democracy. In the US our federal form is a representative democracy, but the states are usually mixed direct and representative, since citizens referendums exist.

  3. I would think all government is collective by definition, but some are based on individuals choosing their leaders, and some are based on leaders choosing their victims/ subjects.

  4.  @operaguy1  True true. I blame agriculture. Very large groups were not possible during our previous 100,000 years of evolution. So we could choose leaders we knew personally. We evolved the ability to recognize strength, wisdom, and kindness by how people looked and behaved. Now the media use this against us. They simulate a wise guy, and since we never actually meet him, we can't tell if he is FOS.

  6. Probably most people have tried democracy at one point or another. It's pretty basic idea.
