  3. This is correct. This is why we should pay Congressmen like 2m, not 200k. Or maybe 20m. We the People need to outbid the special interests and dark money. At least, we should be in the ballpark.

  4.  @Cayden4204  I could go for term limits and competitive pay. Especially if the term limits allowed one to hold office, leave office, and then run again in the future after some years. There are some really good people in congress, and we should be able to elect them again if we want. Like our Udall who's just retiring now. But only after they take a break, because there is too much control now by incumbents. Term limits are an extreme solution to an extreme problem of Duopoly.   I'd love to abolish the parties but of course that would only hurt the small parties more. We should have proportional representation! That might only work at the state level but it would be amazing.

  6.  @sebione3576  He's not going to be removed, but the House is doing it's job to investigate. The quality of the investigation, idk. But they kinda have to do it. Shoulda done it for the last two presidents based on faking intelligence and droning Americans. Congress has been awol on oversight duties for a long long time.

  8.  @snakepliskin793  That goes to one of my pet points: we need to pay congressmen like 20m, not 200k. We the People are outbid for their services! An independent base of power is really an advantage for a president who wants to change things.   Obama had none, so changed little. JFK had a lot, but it wasn't enough. FDR had immense family wealth and connections, and used them to get the New Deal.

  9. Actually, this is not a criminal proceeding. No jail or fines can result. The worst thing is getting removed from office. No particular crime has to be proven or even alleged; it is the purview of the House and Senate to decide if the President goes or stays. That's the Constitution. Public opinion should demand conclusive evidence of real crime(s).

  10.  @CoD_Maj3st1k  I agree WaPo is not always reliable, but still. Mars T said there's "0" evidence, and I gave evidence. For what it's worth I don't think Trump is more corrupt than the others. I'm not a partisan. I call bullshit when I see it. I've called out AOC and Warren in recent days. Trump doesn't get a pass from me just because he's often attacked unfairly. I defend him when I see that happening.
