  1. I met the daughter of a Major who served with Macarthur in Japan. She said her dad convinced Macarthur to halt the destruction of family swords. He convinced Macarthur that they were not weapons but heirlooms. I guess that was too late for your uncle. She said that her dad was honored in Japan forever after that.

  2.  @all9472  Yeah Atlatl is a forgotten weapon! They were the hunting caliber of choice for a hundred thousand years before archery. Clovis Man used atlatl.
