  3. I don't think arms can be spandrels. They once had a purpose, and if they lost it they are vestigial.   If I recall Gould correctly, a spandrel is something, like the protrusion of the human chin, which doesn't and didn't have a purpose, but is rather a by product of other things that do or did. Great program!
