It is "more" mathematically/physically correct to use tau (t) in place of pi, with t = 2 pi (this is better viewed as pi = tau/2.) While it seems on the surface to be equivalent, fundamentally it points to radius r as being the more natural circular measure that the diameter. That is, the ratio of circumference to diameter gives rise to pi, when actual it circumference to radius that should be used, giving tau (2 pi). Thus, C = t r in place of 2 pi r. working through the example in the video then gives t^2/24. There are serious considerations for changing over to tau throughout science that researchers are considering with various papers written on the matter.
