An episode of Black-ish addressed the caste system of various tones within the black community. "Diane" is darker because the actors are not all related. Diane could be darker because of recombinant DNA! Our gametes are formed in the wombs of our mothers, when we are fetuses. They are made from the parts our parents got from their parents. I thought DNA testing would bring humans together as we learn how mixed nearly all of us are. We are all "Jesus Christ's Cousins"! Ain't happening quickly, though.

Take that, Florida! I wish all future voters would study HS Biology, Macroeconomics, and US Government. Throw your genealogy studies on my wish pile! Won't happen unless K - 12 gets standardized federally. Education is a "responsibility" of states unless Congress does something organized about it. Not just a law but an Amendment. Sigh.

I was born a midwestern WASP, but now identify as more than one drop K - Hive. For those who claim Jamaican black is insufficiently American, I say the whole Western Hemisphere is Americas, and I believe Jamaica is on our continental shelf. United Statesian doesn't roll off the tongue easily, but it is hubris for us to monopolize the "American" label within US borders.

Just lately heard, though, that on return from his first of 2 Spanish funded voyages to Carribean, he reported to Templars in Portugal en route to (before) the Spanish crown. Those are Templar style crosses still depicted on his sails, and Templar affiliation would explain his access to networking across Europe. I thought Columbus was appointed governor of Spain's first colony, and didn't thrive in that role.

The 19th c insistence on confining charity to the deserving poor is not gone! Accusations that want is caused by gambling, drug use (including nicotine and alcohol) are still rife! Telling poor that ignorance benefits them is not so new, though. Medieval bibles were copied and read in Latin, and parables told by illustrations in church art, so church officials could be gatekeepers of their crown - serving truths. Church establishment were angered by the press printed Bible, not wanting laity to form their own interpretations. The many freshly informed opinions fed the Protestant bickering.

Elimination of EPA & OSHA scare me even more, as damage to environment will happen faster than revision of history, and erosion of worker protections is well underway! Prohibition of birth control, IVF, & abortion, as well as denying gays' rights to marry and to have their existence acknowledged are so far from the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness we were promised that campaigners encounter disbelief of GOP intentions! As coach Walz says of Trump's denial of involvement with and awareness of it: "You don't put together a playbook if you don't intend to use it!" Trump says directly to corporate media "I don't know it, don't intend to read it (Duh! And he has people for that!), and parts of it I don't like." But to smaller audiences he says eliminating Department of education will be hard on small states like Iowa and Idaho, but that's just tough. DJT knows, and supports, the elimination of government functioning! I trust Harris and Walz to know the difference between Iowa and Idaho! The developer sees two coasts, and all in between is distressed property that will be worth flipping when shoreline encroaches upon it! Ha! I understand their placement conclusions are based on probability that each gene sequence is found in a region, modernly, from the start of the building of each data base. So zero historical perspective! Well - invaded areas will be skewed in the direction of which modern occupants decide to participate. I'm glad they are offering updates as their sample size grows! Accuracy will increase up to a point where original inhabitants of each place are statistically outnumbered, today. So, not - so - great replacement theory.

I have not been involuntarily unsubscribed from NYTN, but I have too many subscriptions! I'm feeling a need to drop my most prolific subscription just to make room in my suggestion list for lower volume ones.. YT still knows I will watch plenty of content from previous subscriptions when they offer it to me on my home page.

@nytn I called myself a libertarian in late 70s, 80s, having found the "Aloha Caucus" in Iowa. The sex and drugs wing of the party, one said. I said for years that I went right, around to the back. You ever hear "a conservative is a liberal who's been mugged"? By the end of the 90's I was feeling mugged by the economy, and felt I was coming "around the back" of ideologies, and out to the left. Jim Hightower's Rabble Rouser event in KCMO, 2017, convinced me that Libertarianism is a facade for robber barons: surprise, another con. From feeling libertarian practices could lead to that rising tide that lifts all boats, I became squeamish because leaving investors to their own devices does not lead to successful individuals setting great examples for everyone, but to dire and urgent need for environmental protection regulation! The Green Party alienated me by making anti - capitalism a plank in their platform, but by now I do feel utilities and hospitals should be cooperatively owned, and that subsidized education would produce better taxpayers and customers!

Surely you've seen misspelled key words in many comment threads. Some, often cuss words, are deliberate. I'm not worried about having comment deleted for mentioning AH, but didn't really want it in my Watch History. Perhaps you'd enjoy Corey Ryan Forrester's game Three Clicks and a Hick . He didn't want to put Hitler in the title. Corey can start an internet search and often find his way to the famous bad guy with just 2 spinoff links. It's like 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon for pessimists.
