  5. I've seen how fast an accidental fire can get out of hand in Australia and before you're able to breathe it's entirely out hand. If you don't know what to do and there's no water immediately at hand you can just stand in horror as it takes off. I was lucky, the local fire brigade came to my aid and put it all out without water, it was amazing to see. They broke down small branches and ran along beating the fire out really fast. It could have been much more serious had it got into the trees but it was just in the long dry grasses.

  6. I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned the lightning strikes from clear blue sky that fire and smoke frequently causes in Australia. Yes it happens all the time and spreads the fires wider.

  9. We can only know the age of the universe by the distance we can see..... so far...and at the moment our telescopes can only see that far at the moment. It doesn't mean that's the end of the universe, only as far as we are able to see. We'll get there, probably after I'm dead, if in fact there is an end to the universe.

  17.  @rogerscottcathey  who draws your maps. Every map I've ever looked at shows N at the top of a map. S at the bottom and that's what is being shown in the film South Australia is on the bottom of the film and the smoke is drifting over the pacific ocean which is to the East of Australia.
