Exactly the same thing will happen to the Queensland coast as it grows and grows. Australia doesn't have the water to cope either and they get visitors from all over the world, many from Japan and China during the Summer. The Gold Coast used to be a small town that's turned into another high-rise city.

How can Spain be so dry when the rest of Europe isn't?
2
Forest fires are the wrong thing to do. As an Australian I see where fires are the biggest mistakes that have ever been made. It just makes the worst disasters even worse. You can only grow death from ashes.
2
It's one mistake after another. They can't help themselves.

@gamingtonight1526 No it's not.

You need worms and billions of other living things to add to the soil. Then you need to feed them with the crap that the sheep drop and new shoots and real plants. Grass isn't enough.
1
It hasn't stopped raining, its just being dug out of the soil further down south so it simply doesn't washes away in the hills and the mountains. It cannot remain everywhere at once. If it's being removed from the north it cannot stay in the south where it should belong to the trees. It's being stolen. The same thing is happening in the Black Sea. It's disappearing because it's further down south it's being pulled up for farming. It can't be everwhere at once.
1
No one broke the water cycle. Just too many people are breeding like rabbits.
1
Australia knows that fire isn't the answer to control. That's waste.
1
If we can stop them breeding like rabbits we might have a chance.
1
In other words, it's not sheep that are damaging the land, it's man, it's always man. Man began the damage, man will continue to do the damage unless they wake up and learn to treat it properly. Locking the sheep up won't save the land either.
1
You people are still proudly saying "WE HAVE "FIVE SIX SEVEN TEN KIDS" STOP BREEDING. WE CAN'T AFFORD IT.
1
You're saying that in the days of Ghenkis Kahn, thousands of horsemen could hide there but now the dust is being blamed on overgrazing. So what were the hoses eating back then? Don't blame the animals. They also feed the soil, and they can't be accused of the damage people do, and they can't be blamed for the wind.
1
Quite right.
1
Take a look on Google Earth, the world is divided up into billions of patches where people are using machines to service this land. You no longer see animals grazing anywhere and the trees are all gone, they're in the way.
1
We don't live in a wind tunnel. Stupid.
1
First, we have to stop the people breeding. People are still breeding too much.
1
It will only take a few years when people will wake up to the the fact that only animals can survive on the grass and not nearly as much water as tomatoes and other vegetables. The don't need water from underground and meat is much more valuable than a few tomatoes.
1
People are greedy. Too many trees are being removed all over the world for farming and big business. Only the very rich are enjoying this lifestyle.
1
Spain are making to much money out of their water parks. Look how much money those holidaymakers are bringing with them. They're not spending it on water.
1
Tourists are too busy looking at the ocean.
1
Perhaps the Spanish government should stop the migrants from coming in and taking over. They're coming in from all over Europe and enjoying the sunshine.
1
The trees grew there once. How did they get there in the first place, that's what I want to know. It was a volcanic Island that popped out of the ocean. Where did the trees come from?
1
There isn't enough water for the human race yet, we continue to breed like bloody rabbits. When are people going to stop?
1
When will people start to realize that meat is the best food? We've been eating it for millions of years and it doesn't need water from a mile underground. They don't need the water like peaches and pears. They don't need anything like that much water but people are using more and more water trying to feed vegetables.

@oneshothunter9877 And I bet you think that water just evaporates into thin air. Well I have news for you. When cows eat grass, they hardly drink water at all. Where are they going to get it? What they do think gets peed out the other end and it waters the ground from whence it came. This doesn't happen when you grow wheat, corn, rye, grain of any forms of grain, not to mention sugar, or vegetables. The water is sprayed on and that's the the last you see of it. Cows re-grow the soil we eat from. They have been doing this for millions of years. Creating the soil that we grow food in. Learn about the natural way of life. Vegan life, uses chemicals and kills off the soil and the insects and birds. It's only been sixty years and our earth is already on the way out. Take a look on Google earth and see where the animals are now, if you can find them.
1
The main problem is the millions of acres of trees removed for farming all over world for the grain and soy farming. Money making for the likes of Kellogg's and fake milk. Soy is now in so many products even in medications. It's hard to find products without it.
1
Supermarkets are people's downfall. Advertising everything but natural food.
1
You can't replace the soil with grass. You have to put bigger plants and trees there. Taking the sheep and letting the grass grow isn't going to save the land.
1
It isn't that man is neglecting the environment. It's that man is doing the damage that's causing desertification. Sad as it is.
1
Stop blaming the sheep. It's the men that removed the trees.
