  1. I've been keto for years but a couple of weeks ago I thought I'd try something and bought a couple of packs of dates to see how they affected me. I've never been diabetic so I knew the worst that could happen was I might put on an ounce or two. Dates are really sweet and I was shocked to find how addicted I became to them. At first I ate only a couple a day but soon I was twenty a day, then, then, thirty a day. What surprised me however was I felt sluggish, instead of energetic. I really thought that much sugar would kick-start me but it did the exact opposite. I also gained a whole kilogram in a week. I only bought a kilogram of dates. I shan't be doing that again.

  2. When it comes to oil, I'll cook with lard or bacon fat or even butter if cooking salmon. On occasion ghee. I have a lot of trouble believing that the olive oil in the supermarkets all over the world can actually come from the olive. What's more, I've always been under the impression that it shouldn't be used for cooking with as it has a low temp tolerance. Only for salads etc.

  4.  @gmm3080  I did too until I was forty. Then things went horribly wrong for me. Two things can happen, you can eat the wrong crap, or cop it from a doctor as I did. In ONE YEAR, on a single pill my weight more than doubled, It cost me my gallbladder, my appendix and my liver health. Doctors were not interested in fixing my problem. So you see, it can happen to anyone. In the end 20 years later a doctor told my I had hypothyroidism. Lost all the weight in six months on meat and fish.

  5. You know he talks about olive oil being so wonderful for you but, back when the rest of the world was skinny on animal fat and beef and lamb. The Greeks were fat. I make a salad dressing with yoghurt. It tastes fabulous.

  6. WE have the same digestive system as a world or a dog. We feed our pets once a day and they're fine. We do not graze like cows, or shouldn't because we don't have four stomachs. Try it, it's good for you and cheep too.

  10. Good for you and me. I don't see why anyone needs to count the amount they eat though. You either eat what you need or you don't and go hungry. If you're eating animal products you do stop at the right time.

  11.  @gmm3080  What happened was, meds damaged my digestive system. This gradually happens to many of us over years. Mine never healed and this happened to me 32 years ago. I'm healthy now as long as I stay on a carnivore diet. I am now 72 years old and in no pain, have had no infections except a toothache in all this time. My immunologist did me a real favour when he changed my diet.

  21. You're talking of bravery. Now think of something you actually fear and you might get there. Maybe if you were locked in a burning room unable to get out. That might bring up your stress a bit.

  22. Fruit only ripens a few weeks a year. If you eat naturally, you would only eat it in the autumn. It's designed to fatten you up for winter when there's little else to eat.

Then they add chemicals and colours, flavours, preservatives and so many other things you'd never recognise and we're stupid enough to buy this stuff. Dr. Zoe Harcombe said: "Man is the only creature clever enough to make his own food, and stupid enough to eat it."

  28. Olive oil is (oh so often) mixed with cheap seed oils, flavoured and coloured so you can't tell the difference. Think for a moment how many bottles of olive oil are on the shelves of every supermarket in every town and city in the world. For it to be real we would have to have olive trees lining the streets all over the world. It's impossible. Even the experts in Spain can't tell the difference. What's more, we still find olives in the stores. Where do they come from?

  41.  @rochellefreeland4338  Like I said: THE WRONG FOODS. I eat only one meal a day and a few coffees but, I eat a limited diet. NO SUGAR or oils. But I do eat a lot of fat, cream in my coffee for that matter. You can eat three meals a day, but you should know what it is your shovelling into yourself.

  43.  @MrTimcurtis  Cows have four stomachs to digest all that beautiful green grass and turn it into meat and fat for us to eat. They regurgitate it for hours, this is how they can make meat out of grass. We only have one stomach, just like a dog or a lion, or even a wolf. A digestive system of a carnivore in fact. It doesn't mean we can't eat vegetables but it does mean we can't live naturally without animals.

D2 has been running rampant since the second world war? When people started eating more and more sugar laden foods. Now obesity, Type 2, blindness, cirrhosis of the liver, and kidney loss. All caused by sugar and high carb diet. Not to mention loss of toes, feet and legs. Think about that. Oh, did I forget heart attack and death??

  55. Eating the grain that's turned into white flour, and oils are no good to anyone. The vast majority of grains turn these days turn into sugar and make us fat. We should be eating animals and vegetables only.

All trees that grow fruit, have to first, grow leaves, flowers and then the flowers have to die off. When to the fruit grow and ripen? They grow only for about six or eight weeks a year, I don't care where you live. You can't chase fruit trees and vines all over the planet.

  58. Too many bottles of olive oil in the supermarket. There just aren't enough olive trees in the world to make this stuff. It's fake. It's mixed with other oils. Olive trees supply one lot of olives a year, where is all this oil coming from? Millions of bottles of oil in every supermarket in the world. It's impossible.

  59. I've discovered that most of the medications these days that used to be made with flour or some form of oil are now all made with soy or part soy. I couldn't even buy Vitamin D3 that wasn't doctored with Soy.

  62. He made the point that I never really connected with before because I've always cooked my own food. If you have it handed to you, fast food for instance, you do want to eat it all, no matter how much it is, you tend to finnish it. You only cook what you need at home.

Perhaps doctor, you could explain how drugs can cause huge weight gain while the person taking them are desperately trying to keep the weight off because they're well aware of the cause but can do nothing about it. This happens. My weight more than doubled in nine months while I ate one small meal a day and my doctor blatantly denied it was the drug that was doing the damage.

  71. I got a tooth pulled one day and afterward the dentist came at me with a huge needle. When I asked him what it was, he told me it was an antibiotic in case of an infection. When I refused it, even his nurse looked at me as if I'd stuck a needle in him. I'd never been given an antibiotic by a dentists before and I wasn't going to accept this one. He offered to write me script just in case I needed it later. These things are dumped on people too frequently for nothing.
