  1. I have been an atheist my entire seventy years. No one ever tried to shove religion down my throat so it simply never occurred to me until teachers tried on the praying thing and I thought that was utterly daft.

  7. Well Richard, you're right about the USA being really excessively religious but, as for the reason, I don't see it. I live in Australia and have done so for sixty years. This behaviour hasn't happened here and I don't think it happened in Canada either. So why they went God mad in the USA is still a mystery in my opinion. Yes of course there are churches here and in Canada but not to the crazy state of insanity that the US has taken it. Although I'm getting a bit worried that it could be bred here.

  17.  @davidbanner6230  Not for long, it only lasted a couple of my early primary years and it wasn't a lesson, just thank you for meals etc. It soon ended by the time I was about six or seven.

  28. With any luck, in fifty years time people will be placed on medication for seeing this imaginary god that people really believe in today. If someone insisted they saw fairies in their living room day after day, they'd probably be locked up. It's time we saw religious people the same way.
