Fifty years ago people ate mostly with animal fat and mostly meat, not grain. They smoked as well and still they were healthier than they are today.

Lard is clear and crisp and beautiful to cook with. Much easier to clean your cooker too.

I suppose your friends are mostly vegetariens. They are the hardest to shift. Take a copy of this and show it to them.

ย @mabs9503ย WHAT!!!! I'm seventy, I remember when those rotten oils started appearing on the shelves in abundance and wondered what the hell they were and where they came from. I was about twenty when I first started noticing young women getting very hippy and wondering why they were getting that way. There had to be a reason. Perhaps you should be talking to your grandmother. ๐๐ She'll know, she'll remember.

The one thing you'll find when you cook with any animal fat is it's much easier to clean up than seed oils. Enjoy.

I came out of hispital last week where I was given margarine for my bread and highly sugary desserts. I thought things might have changed by now.
