  2. If gravity isn't quite what we thought it is, would that affect the efforts to quantize gravity? I mean if physicists came out tomorrow with a quantized gravity that explains general relativity but then it couldn't accommodate galaxy falling off more slowly than inverse square at ultralong distances, and astronomers found out that gravity does need to be modified, then I think the physicists would be very unhappy.
