  1. I think fuel is also used to burn the body. If you just set fire to the body and let it burn itself out you get a charred corpse, which you then still have to bury. Presumably with instructions not to open the coffin.

  2.  @alphagt62  Separating the carbon from the oxygen takes energy, though. If we used some clean power source to power that process, sure. Though it'd raise the question of why not use that power source to run civilization on instead of using fossil fuels.

  3. Kudzu? may not capture as much carbon per plant but it's famous for growing wildly on its own. Edit: Or build border walls out of rows of trees. That gets us bipartisan support!
