  1. AFAIK, it hasn't been measured and won't be measured in or lifetimes. It's something that should happen as a consequence of quantum mechanics and event horizons, so physicists don't have a good reason for it not to happen. You've probably never put on a top hat and a cape then held up a purple teacup and let it go . But you've got a pretty good idea what happens to the teacup.
