  1. Assume that Kirk's quantum information isn't transported. Assume that even some classical information isn't transported. Is Kirk dead? Naw. . Kirk doesn't wake up with all his atoms in the same state as the day before. He doesn't even always wake up with the same number of cell. If he dies when beaming, he dies when breathing, where he's exchanging whole molecules with his environment. It takes more than that to kill Kirk. Specifically, it takes an incompetent bald French guy pretending to be a Starfleet captain himself.
