  6. If I were on the jury, I would have voted for acquittal. If the law doesn't protect him -- if the law has firmly displayed that it has no interest in protecting him -- then the law should not prevent him from protecting himself. Edit: Looks like it was a divisive opinion. I get that, and I was on the fence for a while. And I get that what he did was legally murder; but since law enforcement had abandoned him, I don't care what it was legally. Legally, he couldn't make his house appear empty. if the legal system is one-sided, it has ceased to be a justice system. My assumption is that turning them over to the police would not have kept them off the streets for long. If the cops aren't even trying to stop burglaries then it suggests the courts are clogged, and the teens will be out on bail and re-offending in no time. If I'm wrong then I do indeed have my head up my ass. It wouldn't be the first time.

  7. If I were on the jury I'd already be extremely skeptical regarding her testimony. If the photographs have been edited, I'd be extremely skeptical regarding those as well. I can't think of anything else she has, though I admit I haven't been following closely.

  9. If I was on a jury, knowing what I know, I'd go for self-defense. I'd call the response reasonably proportional, too. If Tyson had been trying to really hurt the guy he would have ended up with more than abrasions and a pouty face.

  13. A judge couldn't overturn the constition anyway. Judges do arbitrarily add to it, unfortunately, but if some judge somewhere could overrule the constitution directly, it would be time for America to have a new government with a new judiciary that understands that judges are not kings.

And of course confirmation bias plays a role: when I first heard the Jussie Smollet story I thought it sounded dicey, but I probably would have believed the hotel story. And the hotel story was much easier for Fox News to check on.

The first part, "is it OK to travel to a conflict with an AR-15" is yes. For "Is it OK to fill 2 fellow humans" : if it's self-defense, yes. But think the question I'm supposed to answer is, "Is it OK to go armed into a situation where people can be easily provoke?" And my answer is yes. IMHO, people being easily provoked is no reason to give them any latitude whatsoever. You don't give ground to mobs to save their lives. Any action they take is still 100% their responsibility. Look, I get that if Kyle had stayed home, two people might have lived. And the death of skateboard guy might be a tragedy -- he may have honestly thought he was catching a murderer. But he was mistaken. And I appreciate that you put a very high value on all human life. Regarding Rosenbaum, I think we're going to disagree on that. I acknowledge he was human and a person, but he lost most of my regard when I heard he threatenedt to kill Rittenhouse if he got him alone. His species was less important than his character. I admit that stance holds individual responsibility over human life.
