Pete Dinklage didn't know what he was talking about. I blame Disney for Disney's decision, but Dinklage's comments are both hateful (he blamed the poor reception of the last season of Game of Thrones as audience "wanting to see all the White people get happy endings" (paraphrased) and ignorant (the dwarves didn't live in a cave), and that should be adequate reason to not take him seriously in the future.
