  1. To me, his being a pedo and gay shouldn't damage people's perception of gay people. However, the support of him should damage people's perception of LGBTQ advocacy. I'd say the same thing if people defended him as a "good Christian" -- banding together in circumstances like this show an uncomfortable amount of loyalty to some identity over individual behavior.
