  1. I hate to say it, but itf Smollett's attorney is right about protecting against double-punishment then I'd side with Smollett. The law has to protect people who commit despicable acts the same as others according to its letter. Ideally, Kim Fox should suffer some sort of penalty, but it's Chicago.
