  1. I think a lot of it comes down to the old "valuing property over human life" line that gets trotted out. I think we have to value property enough to risk human life, or we don't have an economy. And that's not unique to capitalism; if the system were socialist and the government owned all the means of production, someone could still grab a new car off the assembly line unless physical force is a risk.
