  1. It's a case-by-case thing. When I take my chainsaw out to the far end of my property, I think batteries will be impractical. I'll typically need refueling even with a gas chainsaw. For my weed-wacker, it's not really a problem as long as I'm willing to do it a session a day over a few days. I think California is getting silly with very broad fossil-fuel bans, but silly laws and California are not strangers to each other. Edit: Back when I lived in California I used an electric chainsaw as the whole yard was in reach of a cord, and electric chainsaws are easier to start.
