"Not a terrorist event." "IEDs found in the car.," What? They thought he was on his way to do some demolition and took a shortcut through a crowd?

Shaq's 100% right. Individual liberty is an interest that has to be taken into account.

I talked to a fan of Biden about what he's accomplished. The answer was, "Not being Trump." He didn't have anything else.

I think the name "Democratic Party" has been ironic for decades.

I saw a lot of left-leaning talking heads say they didn't understand how someone could vote for a convicted felon, impeaches so many times, etc. This is why. The justice legal system lost the confidence of a lot of voters.

The failure of CNN makes me a little proud of the American people. We're more than a little beat up, but we can still show some discernment. CNN used to be a respectable news source; maybe it can be again.

I already didn't fly United. Who wants to fly a racist airline?
114
"And as women, our intuitions are never wrong." We've entered post-rational discourse.
41
The left left a lot of people behind. RFK and Tulsi Gabbard, for examples.
41
She was 200% wrong. He wasn't committing a crime, and even if it were a crime, 911 is for emergencies, and this wasn't an emergency. Her entitlement could have cost someone else response time an an actual emergency.

@sthubbins4038 The unemployment isn't a bad point. As to ending the war in Afghanistan, we'd already had plans for that, and I wouldn't call the execution of that one something to Biden's credit. Unless you can spin the release of tanks and helicopters to the Taliban as easing the US arrmed forces' maintenance burden.
28
That's self-determination. They don't like the way a place is being run, they walk away. Nothing wrong with that.
21
This is like an in-depth investigation to find out whether or not water is wet.
14
The timing of this is really curious.
14
I'm afraid that DA might be exactly the kind that Memphis voters want
13
They didn't want children, and are finally taking responsibility for it. And the problem is...?
12
They need a new city council.
11
A lot of them wanted anybody but Trump in 2016. Some wanted another president who'd play the politics game, some just didn't like his brash style.
10
That is an underrated comment. 😊

@sthubbins4038 Trump didn't remove the troops, but he scheduled it for what would have been his second term. The troops were supposed to withdraw with the rest of our people getting out, and the materiel as well.

If he wanted to accept a donation and softball her, that's one thing. Doing that secretly is something else entirely. People have a right to be upset.
6
I think they think they have a monopoly on ideas, and they'll never stop resenting evidence to the contrary.
6
Time for a contempt of court charge.

I don't want a civil war. I'm not saying we're going to have a civil war. A civil war would be goddamned nasty, and it wouldn't be just the terrorists getting hurt and killed. Civil wars aren't very civil. But I am saying that if they push us into a civil war -- if they are saying that they will use massive violence to get their way -- then I am prepared to fight it. It would be better to have a civil war than to see the dream of individual liberty die in the land that did so much to raise it up. It's not just a fight for America. America itself is worth my life, but this fight is for more.

@PP-rq7ly United Airlines discriminated by race (among other things).
4
White isn't a color, technically. Black isn't either, though, so that's going to mess up the whole "people of color" description just as much. There's no wavelength of light corresponding to either one, white being a mixture of several (or all) the visible wavelengths and black being the absence of light entirely. Of course white people are a light pinkish-brown, so you could say white people are people of color if you stopped calling them white. It's all so verrrry simple. 😊
4
That's some spin. I'm honestly impressed! If I ever need someone to sell sand to the Sahara, I'm going to at least consider him. His polls are bad? well, the voters must just have unparalleled expectations of him, and he's proud that his administration is so wonderful that voters can unreasonably not like him. 😂
4
I guess that's the downside. I take a pretty libertarian view on drugs -- what you put into your own body is your business. But if the rest of us have to pay for addicts who want to spend their entire waking lives blitzed out of their mind, that's different.

We can't handle all the world's poor. Most of these immigrants aren't bad people, but we can't afford to take them all in.
3
The forces of tolerance
3
The people complaining think everyone secretly hires by race. They don't seem able to fathom doing otherwise. That's pretty troubling.
3
Disgraceful, IMHO. I can sympathize with the drive for a father to try to help out his son, but the POTUS should strive for higher standards. If Biden strove for higher standards, he came short.
3
Defund NPR. It shouldn't be getting tax dollars.
3
Auto break-ins, generally.
3
I'm OK with harm reduction. But equity is just "equality of outcome" and that has a really bad track record. Why not equalize crack sentencing with other cocaine sentencing?
3
Good. They need to be held accountable.

I don't think she should have gotten that postcard. But I do think the purpose was to get her to think, and it probably didn't work.
2
Next election: marijuana is mandatory!
2
I've rarely seen so many people outraged at equal treatment.
2
M.E.O.W.G.A.

If she was drunk it doesn't mean she's alcoholic. My guess is medication, though.
2
I think this kid will have a better outcome than most offspring of single mothers, but there will probably still be a gap there.
2
They're forgiving, but they won't forgive people for things that they never did. Huh?
2
It's not fat-shaming, it's laziness-shaming.
2
On the bright side, if Lightfoot finds Henyard wanting it might convince people who would otherwise be reluctant to get onboard. And for all her faults, Lightfoot wasn't as bad as Mayor Brandon.
2
They seem to be using LGBTQ to push a lot of sexual stuff that they wouldn't allow for straight sex. It's kinda suspect.
2
Fighting irrational hatred with facts. God bless him, and I hope it works. Schools in Oregon have dropped some of their graduation requirements because of "equity." That makes those diplomas worse for everyone.
2
Roe v Wade was a bad decision, IMHO. They made up a constitutional right (privacy) and applied it very narrowly (abortion) while not even addressing the personhood of the unborn. Now the unborn is by definition not an American citizen by birth (on account of it hasn't happened yet) or naturalization (it hasn't filled out the paperwork), but the law is supposed to apply to non-citizens within the US as well.
2
We already knew the devil went down to Georgia. Now we know why!
2
No need for an apology, my friend. Collective responsibility by race is part of the let's problem. Also, I'm mostly German, so there's that...
