The fascist party was created by 1) the revolutionary unions 2) the futuristic party that presented itself as progressive 3) some radical defectors from the socialist party. The fascist party's first name was the Revolutionary Fasces of international interventionist action. The Fasces were committes of workers, the Italian equivalent of Russian soviets. They were interventionist, meaning that they were favorable to Italy's entry in WWI in 1915. Like Lenin, the fascists assumed that the world war was like no other before and it would destroy the old capitalistic, bourgeois world, bringing together the conditions of the socialist revolution. They chose themselves a leader : Benito Mussolini, who was no one else but the first secretary of the Italian socialist party and editor-in-chief of Avanti, the first Italian socialist newspaper. Mussolini had just been fired from the Italian socialist party, not because he was already a fascist, but because he was a staunched marxist. Mussolini had urged his socialist colleagues to choose between the world war on capitalism and the socialist revolution. Having resigned from Avanti, Mussolini found Il Popolo d'Italia which would call itself the "workers' socialist newspaper". Serving on the Austrian front, Mussolini always found time to publish articles for his newspaper. He was delighted with the outbreak of the bolshevik revolution. Later on, Mussolini reproached Lenin for making separate peace with imperialist Germany in order to carry out a lonely revolution for Russia only rather than seeking to export the revolution to the whole European continent. That's when he broke up with Lenin and internationalism, which doesn't mean he was no more of the left. Back from war, Mussolini pronounced a speech on the San Sepolcro square in Milan that was clearly a far-left program. I could tell you the whole story of fascism until its end but I will just say two more facts : 1) Driven from power by the right branch of the fascist party in 1943, Mussolini was freed by the Nazis and founded the puppet state of the Italian Social Republic. At first, he was meaning to call it the Italian Socialist Republic whereas Hitler prefered the Italian Fascist Republic. They agreed on Social. 2) The king, the army, the employers, the Church, in brief, all that traditionally embodies the right, had let Mussolini down. In search of allies to create a new regime that would go on after the war, who did Mussolini naturally turn to ? To the socialists and the communists of course ! They declined the offer, not for ideological reasons, but because Mussolini was a finished man and they did not want to fall with him.

@w.t.fpipedreamwithhopefull5538 I'm telling you historical FACTS, you are telling me left propaganda. There's nothing correct about what you say. As for the Spanish civil war, it opposed the right to the left, fascism has nothing to do with that. The Church supported Franco indeed and that's a pretty "normal" thing given that Franco was a Catholic conservative and his opponents were the anticlerical Reds. Franco got help from Germany and Italy because they all had the same hatred for communism. Hitler used the Spanish civil war to train his troops for his future wars. As for Mussolini, dreaming of a future Mediterranean empire, he was meaning to spread Italian influence in the Iberian Peninsula. Don't forget that later on, even if Franco let a few Spanish volunteers fight under the German uniform on the eastern front, he refused to enter WWII to support the fascist regimes. As for the German Church, it didn't support Hitler. This is pure invention. As a socialist, Hitler hated the Church. You won't find any picture of Hitler with members of the Clergy. Hitler liked one religion, and it was islam, which he enjoyed for its messages of racism, antisemitism and violence. There are many quotations of Hitler's feelings about islam that you will easily find on the net. Hitler was the sponsor of former mufti of Jerusalem Mohamed Amin al-Husseini who spent the whole war trying to have muslims fought with the Germans. al-Husseini created muslim units fighting under German uniform (again, there are many pictures, just google that). Regarding industrialists, I wonder why they would have particularly like Hitler given that his prolicies turned them into civil servants. The Nazi state determined what companies were allowed to produce, it determinded in which quantities companies should produce, it determined their production schedule, it determined from which suppliers they should get detached parts and raw materials, it determined the price of finished products. Furthermore, the Nazi state made German companies hire staff that they didn't need. Like any given socialist regime, the Nazis created fake jobs. Add the typical socialist bureaucracy that killed any form of authonomy and responsability. The Nazi regime eased the concentration of businesses in order to make productivity gains. As a result, the German industry consisted more and more of mighty conglomerates but these would live mainly on the public demand to prepare the next war. Unlike the bolsheviks, the Nazis didn't delete private businesses but they deprived German companies of all entrepreneurial freedom. But it's true public procurement enriched some industrialists though. As for workers, I'm afraid that again, what you say is inaccurate. The Nazi state spent heavily on the welfare of the workers, which resulted in heavy debt. That's because the Nazi state was broke that Hitler precipitated his wars of conquest in order to grab foreign wealth.
