The leader wants to be in charge longer than the local constitution allows (where have you heard that in the US? Nixon wanted to but he didn´t even dare joke about it, he just put his minions to work on it silently)... The leader ridicules any and all opposition to his position... There is usually something resembling "state TV" (Fox news)... The leader lies all the time and his cronies don´t dare say anything about it but follows with "lip service" ("Little miss" Lindsey)... Many of his followers calls for the abolishment (or at least the "emasculation") of the opposition... His cronies emulates him... Now where have we heard all of that in one place ?
