I’m certain I never made any assertion that anyone in particular needs pride month. Decent people choose to respect others and their differences.
It’s a fair question, and the reason Pride is done is because many in the LGBTQ are attacked for their differences. Often physically assaulted, and even murdered.
Have you ever thought to actually have that conversation with so,done in the community? Or do you have a pressing need to attack even the idea of inclusivity and acceptance?
Pride is a cultural concept within the LGBTQIA+ community that can have different meanings for different people. It can represent solidarity, identity, and collectivity, as well as resistance to violence and discrimination. Pride can also be about acceptance, equality, and celebrating the work of LGBTQIA+ people. It can also be a time to educate people about LGBTQIA+ history and raise awareness of issues that affect the community.
Quite often, religious fundamentalists hide behind their religious beliefs in order to hate on others. They’re often indoctrinated into very narrow mindedness at the expense of “others”.
More so, there is some crazy notion from the right that the LGBTQ community is about hurting children, when the reality is that sort of stuff has been happening at churches. Even the Catholic Church has millions of dollars set aside to defend criminal priests. And the fundamentalist community turns a blind eye, but falsely accuses the community they hate.
