Even suggesting you understand what Christianity “actually” is, you mean true. As far as what you assume I would claim about Christianity isn’t relevant. @wingerding Sorry, but the Christian Bible,includes both the Old and New Testaments. And, the verse where Jesus directs slaves to obey their earthly masters is in the New Testament. It’s just dishonest to suggest the OT is not part of the Christian Bible, as every version of the Christian Bible today contains those chapters and verses. Also, according to the Christian Bible, Jesus said he was not here to change the laws, but fulfill them. Right?

@wingerding I’ve studied it longer than you have. In fact, I have attended Seminary. And I’m using the Christian Bible as a source, and you’re denying what is actually written in the book. So whichever university you attended, perhaps you can get a refund? You’re arguing like a believer, not a scholar. And you lie like one too. Where does original sin come from? And oh, they (the OT and NT) have nothing to do with each other “except for” which means they are not as independent as you’re lying.

I notice you’re not bothering to address any of the points I’ve made, though. Your own argument works against you anyway. You’re going to dismiss the OT, except for where you require it, like the prophecies you mentioned. You dismiss original sin, and where Jesus said he was not here to change the laws, but enforce them. Despite your alleged extensive studies in various religions, do you hold to Christianity as true?

@wingerding I’m not asserting I studied in Seminary for seven years. I’m saying my studies included more than seven years. For the record, I’m educated enough to know that supernatural claims have never been demonstrated to be true, so any claims for miracles hold to the same level as claims for unicorns and leprechauns. Now I wonder whether your assertions of indoctrination are simply projection.

@LoraxChannel That’s a bold accusation. It may be the case that I know more about Christianity than you do. It may be that I have forgotten more about Christianity than you ever knew. What you failed to do is make a “valid” argument, or offer any demonstration that my position is incorrect. I see you’ve posted a lot of unsubstantiated and false claims within the last few minutes. It’s funny that you assert things like anti- slavery and freedom are based on the concept of a god that created all men equal. However none of that is part of Christianity. Those concepts were not based on any god concept you would accept. Quite the contrary, considering the Bible says God made slavery permissible by his own laws. Additionally, some slaves (Hebrew males) would be released after six years, while non-Hebrews, and so,en would be owned for life. This is not equality. And it isn’t freedom. It seems as if….you don’t really know anything at all about Christianity or the Bible.

@LoraxChannel We have evidence for Caesar’s existence, but there are claims Caesar was the son of God. That doesn’t make it true, does it? Caesar was allegedly a god. Is that true too? See, what you’re gong to fail to do is demonstrate any supernatural claim is true. Do you know why? Because they aren’t true.

@LoraxChannel The Jesus you believe in, a divine Jesus is not a real historical person. That’s the difference. A mundane human existing, sure…it happens all the time. So his claims to divinity are absolutely relevant. Just as Caesar was another non-divine being. As for faith, it doesn’t matter what you claim most atheists worry about or whether they can argue about faith. I certainly can. Faith can be defined different ways, but in this context, faith is the active practice of self deception. That being the case, I’d argue that nobody should engage in actively deceiving themselves intentionally. To me, a life lived in denial and delusion, or practicing self deception, and pretending they have answers they don’t have, is a serious waste. You’re also making a false assertion or accusation that perhaps those that do not accept supernatural claims have never attempted inquiry. The reality is, you believe things you can never demonstrate to be true. That is necessarily due to a lack of inquiry. You can do better.
