@checksandbalences If you believe you have a personal relationship with something that doesn’t exist, I’d say it does. Can you demonstrate you have such a personal relationship? Can it be differentiated from a delusion?

@checksandbalences Faith is the excuse people use when they don’t have good evidence. Consider, Judaism uses faith. As does Islam, Mormonism, Christianity, and Buddhism. And they all disagree. So faith isn’t useful in determining whether or not a belief is true. But it will allow you to increase your confidence in the belief even when the belief is false. As for reading the Bible, I have. Multiple times. I’ve attended Seminary. Remember, the Bible doesn’t demonstrate any gods exist. It just makes a lot of claims for which we would need evidence. So that seems to be the disconnect here.

@checksandbalences Wow, it seems like you completely disregarded my response. Faith cannot get you to truth. Faith is believing when there isn’t good reason to believe. It is an artificial bridge between what we know and what you believe. What reason is there to believe what the Bible says? It doesn’t comport with reality and makes supernatural claims which we can never prove are true. If explaining why faith is a problem gets you to double down, I find that troublesome. Dishonest, even. Can you explain why anyone should worship the god of slavery?
