The government can’t interfere with religion, and religion can’t interfere with the government. If we are going to build a wall, it should be between religion and government. But when a religion conditions people to accept non-evidence as equal to evidence, it seems to impair their ability to reason effectively. I find slavery to be immoral. I think most decent people do. Now, this is just my experience, but the only people I know who defend owning other people as protesters seem to be those who defend slavery as permitted in the Bible. Where do you stand on the morality of owning people as property?
