Both times are in the First Amendment. Both times it is for exclusionary purposes. The Free Exercise Clause protects citizens' right to practice their religion as they please, so long as the practice does not run afoul of a "public morals" or a "compelling" governmental interest. The First Amendment's Establishment Clause prohibits the government from making any law “respecting an establishment of religion.” This clause not only forbids the government from establishing an official religion, but also prohibits government actions that unduly favor one religion over another. So what church is lying to you? And why are you so gullible?

@jdgill-u2s Most of these churches collect money, and keep 90% as overhead. Very little goes to help anyone. In fact, churches hi-jack the charitable nature of communities to propagate itself.
