@jamiejay7633 That is an unfalsifiable claim, and unrealistic. More importantly, the God you believe exists only exists in the imagination of humans. I have superior moral standards anyway. Why would I lower my morals to worship a God that is imaginary, but is less moral than I am?

@ThethomasJefferson I’ve done more research than you have. So, you’re guessing wrong. The names associated with the gospels were assigned through church tradition. The gospels themselves are anonymous. And still, nobody in the gospels makes a first hand claim to witnessing a resurrected Jesus. And no, they were not written any time after a resurrection. The stories alleged a resurrection. And you have no first hand claims to witnessing a resurrected Jesus. Not one. Actual Biblical scholars know this is the case. It’s time you go learn from actual scholars, not apologists.

@rlhicks1 Actually, I’m not wrong. Here is why; a mundane human may have existed in history. I don’t dispute that. But when people refer to Jesus the Christ, that cannot ever be confirmed in history, as NO supernatural events can. So there is a definite distinction to be made from a real human, and a magical being. So, in fact…I am indeed correct. What you’re doing is making an equivocation fallacy, confusing the mythological character with the actual person. Every other reference you made can easily be debunked, and you should perhaps investigate those more closely. So what if the Quran copied and changed what the Bible said. The quaran doesn’t consider Jesu to be anything other than another prophet, and not the Christ claimed by Christians. Tacitus wrote about Jesus a hundred years later, so was not contemporary and would have no way to verify any claims. In fact, there are no contemporary wiring’s about Jesus outside of the Bible. We know for certain the gospels were anonymous, and that there are no first hand claims made within the gospels form anyone saying they witnesses a respected Jesus. Those weren’t written for decades after the fact, and we have no original manuscripts. Everything else is just fanatical writings by and for other fanatics.

@ZippyDChimp-mr1tf God made slavery (owning another person as property) permissible by his own laws. Are you under the impression humans can’t make laws prohibiting owning people as property? Also, how would you go about demonstrating any God exists in reality, and is t just imaginary? That is the real problem here. Every God exists in the imagination of humans. No God can ever be demonstrated to exist in reality. So how would you should whether any God does exist in reality, and how would you show what laws, if any, your alleged God has? Remember, the Bible just makes claims. It isn’t evidence. Evidence is necessary to support those claims, and you don’t have that.

@Del-Canada It is not unknowable. It depends on the God claim. However, I can be just as certain about the non-existence of God as we both are about unicorns, and leprechauns. Suggesting there is no right or wrong when it comes to faith suggests Hinduism, Islam, and Mormonism are true? If you think lying to yourself can’t be wrong, I’d suggest you’re lying to yourself.

I’ve also attended Seminary. I bet you have not. When we die, we don’t go anywhere. Just because you believe something doesn’t mean it is true. Even science never claims we come from nothing. In fact, there may never have been a state of “nothing”. In fact, there is no reason to conclude there was. So before you make such silly assumptions, you should learn more. And maybe get caught up on science. You’re lagging behind.

@theOlLineRebel I’m opposed to slavery. Unlike the laws in the Bible. And I’ve never drowned pregnant women or babies. Or anyone else for that matter. I would never lock my children in the basement and light them on fire. I wouldn’t leave a loaded weapon within reach of children, then blame the children when they get ahold of it. Nor would I punish all their descendants for their actions. And…I wouldn’t demand a blood sacrifice in order to forgive them for any wrong doing. Does this help to paint a better picture?

You’re making an equivocation fallacy, trying to swap a mundane human for a supernatural Christ. Sure, a mundane human may or may not have existed. But no scholar can account for supernatural claims, as those are all fiction. You don’t have 2000 years of evidence. And there are more people who disagree with you than agree with you. Many different people following many different religions make many different claims about many different Gods. Claims mean nothing. Claims are strictly imaginary if they cannot be demonstrated within reality. So how would you demonstrate your God isn’t imaginary?
