Exodus 21.
Owning people as property, and beating them is permissible by Law of the Biblical God.
This isn’t my interpretation, this is doctrine. You can read it for yourself.
Of course, apologetics may say this was indentured servitude, however that isn’t the case here. These laws applied differently to Hebrew men, versus Hebrew women, versus non-Hebrews. Hebrew males in indentured servitude were released after six years. Women were not. And if women had children, they were slaves for life.
Non-Hebrews were kept for life as well, and even passed down as inheritance, since these people were considered property.
