If anyone is claiming to know what a God wants, thinks, or says, they have absolutely zero credibility.

@sandy-quimsrus They believe they’re talking to a God. They may believe a God is talking back. How could anyone ever demonstrate any truth to their claim?
19
@kritsadventures Yes, it applies to everyone. Even fictional characters, like Moses.

@sandy-quimsrus Faith; believing whatever you want regardless of the evidence. What belief can’t be held by faith?
10
@kritsadventures Merely saying you’re unconvinced might be a result of refusing to deliberate. Merely saying you’re unconvinced…is that the same as actually being unconvinced?

@amergrant-ns5cr Effect the jury pool, in a good way.

@chickenmonger123 Show me any dictionary that described faith the way do. Lol.

@StuartKlimek Lol, you don’t get to decide what “proper English” is or whether or not I need to restrict myself to your limited perspective. Your claim that there is only one God cannot ever be demonstrated to be true. You certainly can’t even demonstrate your God exists. I suggest you learn the difference between asserted properties and demonstrable properties.

@JP-gi7dw Money has no doctrine. Money has no dogma, Referring to money as a religion just means you don’t understand much out money, or religion. It does show that you know religion is bad, however.

@chickenmonger123 I don’t chose faith of any kind. Faith is the excuse people use when they do t have good reason. Don’t need faith for fresh ship or for relationships. I don’t have faith when I get out of bed the world will be in the state I left it. In fact, I know as a fact that some things will have changed when I get out of bed. Equations that I have learned don’t require faith. They’re even demonstrably correct or demonstrably false. My budget is either balanced or it is not. I don’t use faith of any kind when balancing my budget, or when buying gas. You’re poor and fuzzy use of the word faith isn’t helpful and doesn’t correspond to what people mean by faith. And certainly, people of different opposing religions use faith, and are wrong….since they cannot all be right. So if faith can be used to believe things that are true, and can equally be used to believe things that are false, then it is useless. In fact, if you’re using faith the way you explained it, you’re likely to be wrong. And you wouldn’t know the difference.

@bluestormcloud791 Yes, some people use unreliable methods to come to false conclusions. That doesn’t mean they hold true beliefs, or that their beliefs and conclusions are true. If they’re using an imaginary friend, and not considering evidence, they’re not fooling the law, and it isn’t arbitrary.

@1noryb What happens when you put faith in a chair which you don’t know is broken?
1
@1noryb That part is fiction.

@JP-gi7dw You’re under some delusion I would fight, kill, or die for money? Lol. Money is a system of value that facilitates the exchange of goods in an economy. Using money allows buyers and sellers to pay less in transaction costs, compared to barter trading. The first types of money were commodities. Their physical properties made them desirable as a medium of exchange. That doesn’t make it a religion. Though, I agree, religion poisons everything.

@1noryb If it’s unknowable, you’re admitting your conclusion is false. Everything is explainable using magic. What we are looking for is demonstrable, not just explainable. So your conclusions fail.

@ZboeC5 Sober up, believer.
