Think about this: every major religion depends on faith instead of evidence. So, by deploying faith…your claims can be no better than a Hindu, Christian, Jew or Mormon. So, you were convinced when you were a child. Have you learned anything new since then?

  8.  @CoraliaL2D  Yes, if you hold a belief you formed when you were a child, and have a better understanding of how reality works, you may very well change your mind. Intellectually honest people will do this. Think of it as going back to check the math. Consider how you’ve phrased your question…if no god exists…you ask “who” created this amazing world. Well, since you can’t show that any god actually exists…it’s almost a valid question. But why do you assume it was a “who”? What is the nature of existence? Or How did existence come into being, perhaps. But you assume a who. Why? What do you know about the conditions of the cosmos prior to the Big Bang? Remember, faith is believing without evidence. You could have faith in any position. So, faith isn’t really useful. Now, regarding that town….why do you accept supernatural claims as opposed to a natural explanation?

  12.  @CoraliaL2D  I’m a non-believer. I am not convinced by the claims people have made for any God or gods. It’s OK if you don’t want to investigate your beliefs. I’d prefer to hold as many true beliefs and as few false beliefs as possible. Which is why I recommend a strong epistemology.

And….you also believe that if a Hindu, Muslim, Mormon, Christian, or Jew, or Satanist had the same attitude, they’d be justified to hold onto their beliefs without question, so,long as they believe and don’t question, they’re justified. Is that about right?
