  3.  @ChristOurKing  I didn’t say it was wishful thinking. According to doctrine faith is evidence of things unseen, which is a contradiction of what evidence is. What is your definition of faith? And can you suggest any set of beliefs that faith cannot be applied to? Certainly, you must be able to admit that faith doesn’t have a mechanism for determining whether or not a belief is true. Sure, it will serve to increase confidence in a belief, but that goes regardless of whether the belief is true.

  4.  @jamesbrice6619  Do Hindus, Muslims, and Mormons also use faith? What beliefs can faith not be used for? So, when you say “not god’s faith”, the obvious question is which god? If your faith convinces you that your beliefs are the right beliefs, and faith can be applied to any religion…. Doesn’t that create a conflict of sorts? If faith is evidence of things not seen, then it isn’t evidence. It takes the place of evidence, and becomes an admission that you don’t have or want evidence to hold the belief. I’d agree, you don’t have evidence.

  12.  @williamwelch7922  I reject the notion that a creator God, the one who makes all of creation and all of the rules would require a blood magic ritual, sacrificing himself to himself in order to convince himself to forgive give us for being exactly as he created us. More so, I understand what the theology claims…I’ve attended Seminary myself. The more important problem besides the obvious plot holes is the complete lack of empirical evidence for any such claims. If a God existed, and this message was so very important, leaving it up to hearsay is underwhelming. Again, I mean no offense.

  13.  @williamwelch7922  What convinced you the gospels are reliable, or true? Specifically, supernatural claims? What we seem to have are second and third hand claims (at best), written by anonymous authors, originally passed down verbally, and no original manuscripts. What we don’t have are any reliable first hand accounts, and the claims made for the supernatural which we can’t demonstrate is true today. I used to believe too. But studying the historicity of the doctrine, opened my eyes to the fact that faith itself can’t lead to the truth of any claim.

  14.  Auran Williams  Proclamations made by alleged prophets don’t hold any value in reality, can you understand this? Your argument suggests that you are worshipping the prophets, if you’re saying Christians worship priests and rabbis. I will challenge you now, if you are willing to accept. How would you demonstrate a creator god exists and is worthy of worship? What empirical evidence could you possibly offer? Any god that demands worship isn’t worthy of worship. Any god that creates Hell or sends people to enteral torment for temporal crimes is neither just nor moral, and is unworthy of praise. But your problem goes beyond that. All you have to offer are assertions of a god, and nothing demonstrable.

  15.  @williamwelch7922  You have no original manuscripts, correct? And what you have from the gospels are a lack of original manuscripts, of third and forth hand accounts, from anonymous authors. If you want to see what changes were made over time to the manuscripts, you’d have to have the originals…and you don’t. You understand there are different translations, and those translations don’t even agree with each other. The Bible was written and copied by many different people with narratives. Prophecies written in hind-site aren’t prophecies. Memorization was prevalent in the culture of the time? So was fine tuning the narrative and copying from other sources. If Christianity is the only world view that makes sense to you, you have a limited capacity. You love the idea of a god. But there is no warrant to conclude a god actually exists. Peace and reason.
