@SherriP If he can do anything, can he end this war today?
2
@ruthsmiles2040 Yes, I am trying to ask questions. If those questions create doubt, is that a problem? Before you assume I haven’t read the Bible, please be aware I’ve read it multiple times, and I’ve attended Seminary. It’s entirely possible I’ve done more research than you, isn’t it? Please don’t falsely accuse me of attacking anyone. I am asking questions and creating conversation. Sorry if you feel attacked though. Maybe you shouldn’t.

Were you praying for war?
1
@SherriP It seems like praying works at about the same rate as chance. If a god exists and is powerful enough to end the war peacefully, and chooses not to… This god would not be worthy of praise or worship.
1
@SherriP How about Childhood cancer? Some 5 year old, dying of cancer…is a result of what exactly? Sin? Sin? Which can roughly be defined as anything your imaginary friend doesn’t like? The same friend who created everything and has all the power to stop it…but chooses not to? His wrath upon is for being exactly as he created us to be? The same god that made slavery lawful?
1
@SherriP Why should I care whether or not your Imaginary friend thinks I “sin”? So what if I judge your god? What harm could I possibly cause a god if such a god is real? What authority does the Bible have? Of the Bible says slavery should be permitted by law, is it sinful to follow such laws?
1
@jadc3654 So what if it does? It’s a book. Right?
1
@viviennejordan215 But praying to Jesus gets the same results as leaving it to chance. Praying for the war to end hasn’t achieved anything, right?
1
@SherriP Here is the way I see it…. There isn’t sufficient reason for me to believe any of it. There just isn’t. If a god exists, and if this god wants me to know it exists, then presumably it can reveal itself to me. So far, it hasn’t. And if this god is so powerful that it can and will torment for anyone for not believing, then there is nothing I can do. But then my question is why worship such a being? An eternal punishment for something that isn’t even my fault? Either a god exists and doesn’t want me to know (yet), or no gods exist. Either way, until someone can show me differently, I remain sincerely unconvinced. But other religions make similar claims to yours. If you stepped outside your religion you’d see similar people with different beliefs, and the same level confidence. Lacking the same evidence you’re lacking.
1
@SherriP Well, you say that. But still, the results are identical to chance.
1
@SherriP It’s a book. You call it living word, but that doesn’t mean anything within reality…not that you can demonstrate. Right? In what way is a book life or freedom? Sounds like flowery language but I can’t see how it comports with reality. What makes the book magic? There are other holy books. Why this one? Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witness, these are are based off the same Abrahamic God myths.
1
@jadc3654 It doesn’t prove god. It isn’t a history book. It’s a book that makes claims. Claims that need to be demonstrated, but cannot. You shouldn’t just accept claims without evidence.
1
@williamelliott Right. And you can only think that way by being convinced there is a god, even if there isn’t one. And when I ask for a demonstration that any god exists…?
1
@jadc3654 Hello? Lots of evidence for the existence of a god? I’ve been ready. I’ve been asking. Remember though, the Bible isn’t evidence. It’s the claim. And ask yourself…are you ready to get a Nobel prize for having such evidence? Why have you waited? Lol. And are you willing to acknowledge when your supposed evidence doesn’t cut it?
1
@kathylouise3939 Prove it.
1
@jadc3654 I already have. You should check out why these claims have been debunked. The claim of the Ark is a natural geological rock formation. The Noah’s Ark story is fiction. The Shroud is a known hoax. The process used to weave the material wasn’t used until around 1200. The hoax is dated to around 1300. And can you admit…neither of this supposed evidence convinced you to begin with?
1
@jadc3654 To be fair, there are several people with different claims for finding an Ark. excuse me if I get them mixed up. The problem is, ALL evidence stands against the claim for a world wide flood, and for the story of Noah’s Ark. Mentioning another claim isn’t providing evidence. And again…neither of these claims convinced you any god exists.. Right?
1
@jadc3654 Oh, you’re referring to god’s magical box? Lol.
1
@eleanapshock9016 What reason do I have to believe you? Elaine, consider this…. If a Muslim, Mormon, or Buddhist made a similar claim…would you believe in their gods, in their heaven, in their hell?
1
@ruthsmiles2040 That is more than one question. But I have a question: why should anyone worship the god of slavery? I tell you what…ask your god what would convince me that he exists, and then let me know. Let’s see.
1
@ruthsmiles2040 If your question is whether God is the Father, I can answer with all certainty that their is no good reason to be convinced that is true. Could you ask your god what would convince me, and let me know what he says? Please.
1
@ruthsmiles2040 If a Muslim, Mormon, or Buddhist posted something similar to what you claim, would it be convincing to you? Why not?
1
@johnc5915 Your god made slavery permissible by his own law, according to doctrine. Nowhere are those laws over turned within the doctrine. Slavery is immoral. So you worship the god of slavery. You’ve seen footage? And you accepted that as evidence? Your standards are so low, it seems you’d believe any claim…as long as it supports your bias.
1
@johnc5915 The modern world could not flourish unless your god was immoral? Your all powerful god, created the universe…and could not find a better way than slavery?
