@yoryteperman429 Belief isn’t about choice. I didn’t choose to believe there is no god. I just haven’t seen any evidence for or arguments for any gods that was convincing. Don’t take it personally. Can you choose to believe that Ohio floats seven miles above the rest of the country? I want you to choose to believe that. Can you? You become convinced of beliefs more than choosing beliefs.

@yoryteperman429 It seems that you don’t understand what atheism means, or what agnosticism means. It also seems like you’re defining what others belief based on your beliefs, not theirs. Blindly believing is a good way to be wrong. Applying faith to a blind belief is a good way to stay wrong.

@yoryteperman429 If you can restrain yourself from being rude for a few minutes…. Gnosticism refers to knowledge claims. Gnostic means to know, agnostic means lack of knowing. If you don’t know whether a god exists, you are agnostic. Theism and atheism refer to beliefs. Atheism is the lack of a belief in a god or gods. Now, some atheists may also assert that no gods exist. However, that position isn’t required to be considered atheist. I would consider myself an agnostic atheist. I don’t know whether any gods exist, but I don’t believe any do. I hope that helps.

@yoryteperman429 The problem of absence of evidence begins when someone makes a claim for which there should be evidence. But what you’re talking about is an unfalsifiable claim. So go ahead and apply your pseudo intellectualism to that fact.

I’m just intellectually honest enough to admit the the evidence for the claim doesn’t have evidence to support the claim. Oh, and your assertions regarding atheism and what it leads to is based completely on your incredulity, your bias, and your dishonest nature. I’m an atheist, obviously, and I’ve already had to correct you on several terms. You’ve also suggested now more than once that somehow you know what atheists think and feel better than the atheist does. That is a clear sign you’re dishonest in your argument. It’s likely you feel this need to attack based on your own insecurities. As for purpose or meaning, I have both in my life. I don’t need an imaginary friend to have purpose or find meaning. And if your meaning is based on mythology and make-believe, than I’d argue that your purpose is far less genuine than my own. Now, can we address that you worship the god of slavery, and probably aren’t even educated enough to know it? So child, if you want to engage, try not to be triggered, and try to be as honest as you can. Admit that you didn’t understand that agnosticism and atheism aren’t mutually exclusive.

@bingo7799 Your god said not to eat shellfish, but owning another person was permissible. Your good didn’t stay neutral on the subject but made it lawful. Are you saying your god couldn’t do better? Why would any god make something immoral lawful?

@bingo7799 It’s not a matter of simply not prohibiting it. According the doctrine, he made it permissible. He could have commanded against it, but his need for worship was more important than human suffering. You’re,also,assuming that there is a bigger picture that makes owning people as property somehow justified. For a god that allegedly can do anything. And faith? Do you understand faith can be used to justify about any position? How reliable can the practice of using faith be?

@bingo7799 I don’t see a bigger picture. I don’t see any reason to conclude any gods exist. I see ancient doctrine that is terribly immoral. I see flawed reasoning (faith) to accept things that aren’t necessarily true, and for which there is no good reason to accept it as true. I see believers attempting to justify slavery, human suffering….sacrificing their humanists and morality for a comfortable belief system. I see inequality promoted.

@bingo7799 I can see how some suffering can lead to good. That isn’t the argument. You’re only assuming some good is coming out of the suffering of people in slavery. You even admitted you can’t see the big picture, but you have faith. And as I addressed earlier, faith can be used to justify any belief, regardless of whether or not it is true. Right?
