So, your god creates eternal punishments for temporal crimes? That is neither just not moral. Before you cry “persecution”, just remember.. I just think,you’re wrong…I don’t think you deserve to suffer.

  3. Remember, our First Amendment guarantees freedom of and from religion. The First Commandment is literally in opposition to such freedom. This makes Christianity fundamentally opposed to American values.

  5.  @denisemayosky1955  I’d agree, my model for morality is superior. Though, I don’t see Christianity as a good moral model. Please don’t take offense, however… The Christian God, according to doctrine, made slavery permissible by law and drowned pregnant women and babies. Plus, the threat of sending people to enteral torment for temporal crimes is neither just, nor moral. I tend to align with Spider-man philosophy. If you have the power to stop the bad things from happening and you don’t… Then the bad things happen because of you. If I the power to stop someone from being raped, I would. A Christian might, too. But their god doesn’t. So no…my position opposing suffering can’t be compared with “Christian morality”. Peace and reason.

  7.  @melissaleoncreolenola  I don’t feel a need to demonstrate gods don’t exist. It is worth while to point out that people don’t have good reason to conclude any gods do exist. It’s about reason, logic, and methodology. If you believe a lucky rabbit’s foot will allow you to cross a busy highway safely, I would feel compelled to talk you out of it.

Would you need to get to know someone to explain the rules of chess, for example? Or how to measure the distance of the moon from the earth? Or what H2O is? You think you’re deserving of paradise, and non believers deserve Hellfire, but you’re not condescending?
