@chetanpaulr I’m not sure what is wrong with you, but I’m not a holocaust denier. Those that reject the scientific theory of evolution are more in line with denial of reality. Those are your shoes.

@timothyemery7918 Irreconcilable? only if you take the Bible literally, right? It does sort throw a wrench into the garden of Eden and first sin concept though.
2
@timothyemery7918 So it’s a metaphorical reconciliation more so than an literal one. Which at best means the scientific theory of evolution is relatively accurate, and though it isn’t necessary or useful to the science, we’ll just throw a god into it somehow.
2
@timothyemery7918 Being a story with commonalities among other stories doesn’t make it true though, right? In fact, it just means you believe one myth over many different myths. And doing so is a dismissal of the scientific method, putting your beliefs at odds with science. Personally testifying to beliefs that are unwarranted isn’t helpful. It isn’t any more helpful than a Hindu or Muslim making similar claims.

@timothyemery7918 The scientific model for evolution doesn’t require the supernatural. It offers a natural explanation. This is a conflict with a supernatural explanation. Wouldn’t you agree?

@timothyemery7918 The root of my adversity to creationism? The scientific model is sufficient and doesn’t require a supernatural explanation. There is evidence to support the current model. I reject the claim of creationism because no evidence supports it. Your bias explains your experience as much as your experience explains your bias. I’d agree those two are linked. However, they aren’t linked to reality. They aren’t linked to evidence for the claim. In other words….if two people experience something ‘spooky’ in an abandoned houses, and one of those two people already believes in ghosts, the ghost believer will more likely conclude the experience was due to a ghost…..regardless of the actual explanation. It’s a primer belief, but isn’t tied to the actual experience.

@timothyemery7918 If you’re uncomfortable with this conversation in the comments section, you don’t need my permission to ignore it. Initially you suggested I was perhaps being hostile. I hope you see that isn’t my intent. I understand these are touchy subjects for some people. Peace and reason.

Do you understand what a scientific theory is?
1
@timothyemery7918 Was it? I’ve seen some outrageous claims made by creationists and believers before.
1
@timothyemery7918 Evolution is to be understood, not simply believed. And don’t blame your lack of understanding on anyone but yourself. Besides, I accurately assessed those that reject the scientific theory of evolution are in line with denial of reality. According to your own position, it doesn’t apply to you. Unless you’re admitting to denying reality in some way..?
1
@timothyemery7918 Which creation myth do you subscribe to, and why?
1
@timothyemery7918 I didn’t ask for a debate. I only asked which version of creation you subscribe to. Some versions do indeed conflict with the scientific theory of evolution. So I was curious how you make the two compatible. It isn’t uncommon for believers to accept evolution.

@timothyemery7918 I’m not saying they can’t. But you’re claiming they do. So now, you own the burden of proof. Right? Can you demonstrate the supernatural exists, when our most reliable methods can’t? What methods are you using to show what the supernatural is, and that it exists? Or is this just something you’re convinced is true, without warrant?
1
@timothyemery7918 You’re attempting to shift the burden of proof. I don’t need to demonstrate the universe wasn’t created by a divine agent, when you can’t defend your position that it was. You’re claiming it was, but you can’t demonstrate this. My understanding of how the universe came about is tentative and based on evidence. It isn’t faith based. And if you’re want to bring morality into it, please be prepared to defend the “god of slavery”.

They oppose reality. Religion poisons everything.
