Holy crap that brain image... together with explanation of cow meat I initially thought "spongiform encephalopathy"... but then came the obvious thing I should've guessed first. Cysticercosis, of course. I live in a tropical nation where cysticercosis is taught about in science classes in middle school to high school. Well, that's back when I was in school, which is a very long time ago... but it's because it was so common for people to eat badly cooked pork. I don't think I've ever seen an MRI scan of someone affected though... that's scary as heck.
