Tolerating such cults and the sort of exploitive behavior that arises from them might be the ultimate source for our extinction as a species. It's not inherently to do with cults, but rather a failure to cultivate societies that are so bad at community living and so bad at socialization that ends up in huge portions of the population falling victim to ill intended people and schemes that are willing to use others for pure exploitation. We did not heed the warning of cults in the past, let this entire scheme fester and gain ground, and now it's taking over politics. They are brazenly acting now as part of politics, which is the way theocracies replace democracies. People need to realize that this is all that the far right movement really is - a cult scam elevated to national level. It makes alliances with all sorts of other radical organizations, because that makes it easier to find the exact type of people who are vulnerable to their scam.
